Where
do you live?
There was once a time we could have replied: "On a beautiful planet which
feeds and houses us; that gives us, free of charge, natural resources that
give us life and water to drink, that also quenches our plants which supply
oxygen, shelter and food for us and the animal kingdom." We had a beautiful
and varied landscape, which we have chosen to blow up and drill into; on which
we have dumped toxic materials and sprayed pesticides. Thus, we are stripping
our home of her beauty, contaminating and altering the natural eco system,
which keeps our Earth Mother and us alive.
Fortunately, more of us are becoming more aware; awakening to the reality
that we are all responsible for our Earth: As an individual is responsible
for their own life, eg. family, home, work etc., the whole of humanity is
responsible for "OUR HOME", MotherEarth. It is far easier to pass this responsibility
to others, eg. world leaders, peacekeeping forces, environmental groups etc.
However, there are many, many things that we as individuals can do, unlike
larger bodies who very often are restricted by an obligation to consider issues
from a more economic perspective. Please REMEMBER and RESPOND to our earth
by remembering the four R`s.
RESPECT~~~RECYCLE~~~REUSE~~~REDUCE
Some things we can all practically do.....
RESPECT:~ Set aside 10 minutes each day to send Healing to our Earth. Respect
yourself and all living things. Find greener ways of transport. Use green
electricity and energy efficient light bulbs. Make use of charity shops.
RECYCLE:~ Bottles, jars. Paper, magazines and cardboard. Plastics. Tin foil,
cans, aluminium. Clothes, shoes and spectacles. Batteries.
REUSE:~ Bags, paper. Clothes. Glass. Send your old mobile phone, charger and
batteries to CDM, Freepost, SEA 8861 Leatherhead, Surrey, KT22 7BR. This goes
towards the Abracadabra Appeal who are raising money for children at the Royal
Surrey County Hospital or you can return your phone to the manufacturer. Our
Planet is not just an inanimate object ruled by the laws of science. Our Planet
is alive. Walk barefoot through the long grass, listen to the whispering of
the trees and you will feel the life force within our Planet. Lie on the ground
with your ear turned to the soil and you will hear our Mother Earths heartbeat.
As with all living things the best way to comfort and to heal is with LOVE.
REDUCE:~ Your carbon footprint. You can do this in many ways. By joining or
starting a car sharing scheme, by using public transport a bicycle. By making
simple and easy changes in your home, from installing loft and cavity wall
insulation, to switching off the TV and not leaving it on standby, to fixing
the dripping tap. All of these things can help you to save money as well!
Sometimes as humans we take many everyday things for granted. We all have
amazing gifts, for example our eyes, our ears, our arms and legs, our senses
of smell, taste and touch. We have found that by being grateful we have less
time to worry about the things we think we do not have. Maybe we could all
start the day with using a grateful affirmation. For example
I am grateful that I can see
I am grateful for my friends
I am grateful for the rain that nourish our plants
Choose some different things each day that are pertinent to your life to be
grateful for. It changes your viewpoint.
