Bergamot

eczema, dermatitis. Frankincense - use as massage oil, bath oil, or in
burner for fears, nightmares, premature ageing or rheumatoid arthritis.
Geranium - use as massage oil, bath oil or perfume for mood swings, menopausal
problems, stomach ulcers or diarrhoea. Rose - use as massage oil, bath
oil or perfume for anxiety, emotional trauma, irregular menstruation,
impatience or confusion. Rosewood - use as massage oil, bath oil, or perfume
for anxiety, insomnia, mood swings, menstrual pain or irregularity.
Stimulants
Eucalyptus - use as inhalant, massage oil, or in burner for colds, influenza,
bronchitis, arthritis, muscular pain, infections or immune deficiency.
Juniper - use as massage oil for cystitis, urinary infections, arthritis,
gout, period pains or scanty periods. Peppermint - use as inhalant, bath
oil, or in burner for mental fatigue, concentration or memory difficulties,
indigestion, nausea, flatulence, muscular and joints aches and pains.
Rosemary - use as inhalant, bath oil or in burner for mental fatigue,
poor memory, arthritis, muscular aches, immune deficiency. Tea Tree -
use undiluted for burns, insect bites and stings, mouth ulcers, athlete's
foot, ringworm, nail bed infections or as massage oil for cystitis or
thrush.
Sedatives
Camomile
- use as massage oil, inhalant or bath oil for anger, irritability, period
pains, heavy periods, menopausal problems. Lavender - use as massage oil,
bath oil, inhalant, in burner or as perfume for anxiety or insomnia, eczema
or dermatitis, apply undiluted for burns, insect bites and stings. Marjoram
- use as massage oil, bath oil, or inhalant for anxiety, stress, hypertension,
insomnia, or as inhalant during attack for asthma or panic attack. Orange
Blossom (Melissa) - use as massage oil, inhalant, bath oil, in burner
or as perfume for anxiety, stress, palpitations, insomnia, premature ageing,
immune deficiency. Sandalwood - use as massage oil, bath oil or in burner
for stress, fear, insecurity, cystitis, urinary infections, or as gargle
or neck massage for throat infections or laryngitis.
Euphorics
Clary
Sage - use as massage oil, bath oil or in burner for depression, period
pains, PMS, or gargle for throat infections. Grapefruit - use as massage
oil, bath oil, perfume or in burner for depression, resentment, gall stones
or urinary stones. Jasmine -use as massage oil, bath oil, perfume or in
burner for depression, lack of confidence, impotence, frigidity or emotional
coldness. Rose Otto - use as massage oil, bath oil or perfume for depression,
grief or infertility in women. Ylang-ylang - use as massage oil, bath
oil, perfume or in burner for depression, anger, impotence, frigidity,
hypertension or palpitations.
Safety Data
Take note of any contra-indications when using essential oils.
- Fennel, hyssop and sage should be avoided by epileptics; - Clary sage
should not be used while drinking alcohol. - High blood pressure: avoid
hyssop, rosemary, sage and thyme. - Homeopathy: homeopathy treatment is
not compatible with black pepper, camphor, eucalyptus and the mint oils.
- Pregnancy: Use any essential oils in half the stated dose. Do not use
angelica, Melissa, basil, bay, Cedar wood, celery seed, citronella, cumin,
fennel, hyssop, lovage, marjoram, myrrh, oregano, parsley, pennyroyal,
rose, rosemary, rue, sage, tansy, thuja, thyme or wormwood.
